Sexy stripper shoes are a staple of Gentlemen’s Clubs. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad one is up to you! But the fact of the matter is that stripper shoes aren’t going away any time soon!
With a typical height of 5″ or more, these high-heels can be real killers if you haven’t prepared yourself for the ordeal (and nothing spells “ordeal” for your feet like six hours in heels!) So, how do you avoid killing yourself while wearing them? Read on to learn the top three things you can do to help prevent injury and make the ordeal as comfortable as possible.
Be a Size Queen
No, not like that! I’m talking about shoe size here, and how important it is to actually wear the right one. Too many women pry their feet into too-small shoes, which can do devastating damage to the feet over the long-term.
Aside from the blisters, too-small shoes will compress the bones, nerves and connective tissues of the foot, resulting in damage and eventual deformity. Think of it Chinese foot binding on a smaller scale (and have you ever seen an X-ray of the results? Totally horrifying.)
Truly, it’s just a number, folks–try to avoid an emotional attachment to a size 6 if you really need to be wearing a 7 wide. If you wear the wrong size, you will eventually destroy your feet–and you certainly need those if you’re going to dance!
Find a Pedorthist to Customize Your Stripper Shoes

I can’t overstate how important it is that you treat your feet well–and I’m not just talking about your biweekly pedicure. You must recognize that your feet are worth the investment in top-quality shoes and inserts. A pedorthist will analyze your gait and scan your feet to learn exactly how you distribute your weight, allowing them to create a pair of custom-designed inserts for your stripper shoes that will vastly improve your quality of life (don’t forget to bring your stripper shoes with you).
I know a lot of people flinch when faced with the costs of custom anything, but compared with the cost of missing work due to pinched nerves, bone injuries and chiropractic issues, it’s worth the investment. Go find a pedorthist to love your feet, and you’ll be loving more of your time on the dance floor.
Learn Body Mechanics for Strippers
People often associate the term “mechanics” with manual laborers whose job requires them to hoist heavy objects, but proper body mechanics is a necessary part of any activity if you want to keep your feet, legs and back in good shape. Think about this–you ARE the heavy object that you’re hoisting! For this reason, it’s worth your while to consult a HOLLISTIC chiropractor that understands pelvic movement for adjustments ONLY if necessary.
They should give you advice on how to position your spine and pelvis to avoid the injuries that ultra-high heels can cause. And instead of going 3x per week over the long term, they should be helping you to be your own doctor and assigning you exercises that will correct your problems and strengthen your weak muscles while also stretching them.
An alternative or supplement to a chiropractor is a fitness consultant that specializes in correcting muscle imbalances. Again, it’s a worthwhile investment in your health and body to prevent and correct these problems while you still can to ensure your quality of life can sustain itself throughout your life, regardless of the profession you are in!

Great article and makes the point that we earn our living with our feet…so it’s important to protect them!
You are so right! Thanks for your comment and if you have any further questions on this I have some great resources to recommend for you!
Wow, I never even heard of a pedorthist before. But I sure enjoyed all the links you have in your Champagne book to where I can find these shoes, its sure not like I can go to the mall in my little town and find them lol!
Ohhh, my feet are killing me from wearing my shoes and now I know something I can do, thank you so much for this article!!!
Sooo sexy and I do love ‘em on the ladies – just how uncomfortable are they, though? Can you make them fit so they don’t hurt at all?
They aren’t as uncomfortable as they look! The clear mesh material is really good at expanding to the width and size of your foot, as long as it is cut in a way that doesn’t chafe your toes! My old dancing shoes were the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn! No kidding!
I’ve always loved the way heels look, though platforms do nothing for me. I think the real insight here is about sizes. I’ve seen too many people in all parts of their life measuring the wrong thing, and getting the wrong result. If you think your self worth is tied into a small shoe size, you end up hurt. This often shows up in the pounds or inches discussion.
